About Us

    We are a group of tenth grade students who are competing in the Lexus Eco Challenge. We  really respect the environment and want to help as much as we can.  We all think that the environment is something that must always be protected, since our survival, and that of may other species depends on it.  We have put our hearts into this project because we are passionate about the issues and want to be part of the solution.

-Melissa and Akila are the co-captains of this group.  They make sure that we stay on track and are helping raise awareness about our project throughout our community.

-Maame and Jazmin are our media contacts.  They are sending out press releases and calling various newspapers and television stations.

-All of us are making crafts from recycled goods to sell and raise money.  They are crocheting water bottle holders made from recycled plastic bags, origami flowers from recycled wallpaper, and bracelets from string and beads that people no longer want.

-Akila, Jazmin, and Maame are making the websites and brochures.

-Alyson is the person who organizes everything, from when we are meeting and making sure everyone can come to setting goals and deadlines to meet for us.

Shannon is in charge of researching the issues and possible solutions. She was also responsible for reseaching the webcamera and associated costs.

-Jazmin is in charge of getting the word out to everyone and takes all the pictures that we use for everything.  She is also doing the research on the pine beetle and good outdoor cameras that we could use for our foundation.
